He had been working every day, except for Sunday, and going to school just to keep a place to live. His church was unforgiving in their service, but he didn't mind. As long as he got enough money to eat and a place to live, it was better than nothing. Still, Cyprus Gray was an unhappy teenager. It had only been a year since his parents died, and life was still hard.
Lately, however, things had gotten somewhat more interesting. By which it is meant that the priest was being possessed. Mars recognized the signs right away. Subtle things, but things that had been burned into his brain since a child. Of course, despite his rather great knowledge of the supernatural, he had no idea how to fight back. This is what being a rebellious little teenaged brat got you.
Which is why he had attempted to contact a few local hunters. His parents had a few acquaintances, but all of them were far too busy to help him. He'd have to wait it out, and hope that things didn't get worse. Meanwhile, he watched the stupid, amateurish demon attempt to force people into sin. He was doing a terrible job, and practically everyone knew something was wrong with him. What an idiot.
Cyprus lay on the church pew in front of the altar, taking a break from his sweeping. It was tiring.
