"Is she your sister?"

"Oh, yes she is."

"What about her?" he asked, sipping his lemonade.

"She didn't ever get much attention from mom."

"Ah...well, I can tell you, it feels lonely." He looked to the side. "Of course, the one time they did something for me--and just me, no Sigrid involved--they died. Is it bad that I hardly miss them?"

He shrugged.

"I didn't have a great relationship with my parents, either."

"Where are yours?" he asked, still holding Frederich's hand.

"Dead." He said truthfully.

He laughed softly.

"Another similarity--you and I are actually quite alike. I could never have expected such a wonderful occurrence."

He shrugged.

"Stranger things have happened."

"...Oh please Frederich, would you consider me as your lover?" he pleaded. "I'll do anything to satisfy you, I swear it."

He yawned.

"No."

"B-but I'll do anything!"

"I really don't have any interest in dating."

He shook his head.

"We don't have to date--I just want to be in your presence."

"Then go ahead." He said simply. "But I won't be your lover."

"You don't feel love?" he asked, disappointed.

"No." He said, though he felt a twinge of guilt so he added, "Sorry."

Claude smiled.

"That's okay. I only wish I were the same...but you like me at the least, right? I won't be a burden?"

He smiled.

"You're not too terrible."

He sighed, his heart fluttering.

"That's good enough then...so we're friends? Best friends?"

"Friends. For now." He said simply.

"So I can get promoted if I'm good?" he purred.

He sighed.

"...perhaps."

"Can I hold your hand, still?" he asked, still fondling Frederich's hand.
