Blair and Yuri's First Date

Yuri walked home alone, novel in hand. He was used to reading while walking; there was never anyone to speak with, so why not? Of course, he wasn't very focused on what he was reading.

Blair would be over soon, and then they could kiss and cuddle and watch a movie like they always did after school. The thought made his heart flutter; he was never happier than he was when he and Blair were together. It was the highlight of his day.

He unlocked the front door of his house and dropped his backpack onto the floor, slipping off his shoes. Time to change into pajamas and wait for Blair.

But Blair was already there. He had skipped, told his parents he was sick, and gone to Yuri's house. He had set up rose petals on the bed and sweets he had baked on the table and candles and everything nice all set up, waiting for Yuri.

He anxiously sat down and waited, rearranging everything numerous times until it was perfect.

Yuri first noticed something was off when a rose petal stuck to his bare foot.

"...Blair?" he called, glancing around. "Blair, are you here already?"

Blair jumped up from his seat. He was hoping to surprise Yuri when he walked in.

"I...uhm, yes," he called awkwardly.

He walked into the living room, still looking quite awkward.

"...Why're you here so early? I thought you were sick today. Is something wrong?" Though he put on a smile, he wrung his hands behind his back.

"I...I, uh...this," he gestured awkwardly, smiling. "I...thought we could enjoy ourselves. Uhm. I ba-bought cookies and cake for us."

He relaxed, and his smile widened.

"Oh. I didn't forget anything special, did I? Or is this some kind of date?" He laughed, tackling Blair and wrapping his arms around him.

"I'm glad you're here," he said, burying his face in Blair's shirt.

He wrapped his arms around Yuri, smiling widely.

"I...yeah, it's a date," he replied, blushing more. "But...not for anything special or nothing."

"Just for plan old me, huh?" he teased, grinning. "So, we've got good food, huh? We gonna just do what we always do, then?"

By that, he meant watch a movie and then have sex. They did it every day after school, almost without fail.

Blair frowned slightly.

"I was hoping we could...uhm. I...don't know. Do something...romantic."

He blinked at Blair, not quite following.

"Romantic how?...Like, holding hands and listening to cheesy music in some restaurant? Or buying each other chocolate because it's a day in February where a bunch of people died?"

He kept his arms wrapped around Blair's neck, though he had to stand on tip-toe and even then Blair had to bend over.

"I don't think I've ever done anything like that before."

Blair smiled, trying to hide his very red cheeks.

"No, I mean...just...romantic, like...maybe...cuddling, and..." he mumbled something else, then smiled. "Yeah, cuddling..."

He kissed Blair on the lips, struck by a sudden mischievous mood.

"Romantic like that?" he asked, grinning.

Blair nodded slightly.

"Maybe," he replied, trying to smile despite his nervousness.

"We can have sex, too, if that's what you're worried about," he said, kissing Blair on the cheek and letting him go.

He blushed, laughing a bit.

"I'm not worried about it. I just...are you really okay with that?" he asked suddenly, feeling his breath catch. "I mean, I just, I..."

He frowned again.

"...Is there something serious you have to tell me?" he asked, toying with his hair. "Are you gonna just be nice before you dump me, or...? You're acting kind of weird."

"I mean, we're not...exactly..." he rubbed the back of his neck, frowning deeply. "...never mind. This is stupid. Let's just watch a movie and eat."

"...Are we not supposed to do romantic things?" he asked, confused. "Are we dating, or aren't we? Are we just friends? Is that what this is?"

"I don't know!" he admitted. "I just didn't want to step on your toes, but I already am because I kind of really liked you a lot more than I thought I would, so..."

He swallowed nervously. He wanted to just die, he felt so awkward.

"I...sorry."

He wrung his hands awkwardly, glancing at Blair and then away again.

"...Well...do you like me, then?" He stood on tiptoe and barely landed a kiss on Blair's neck. "Because I like you. A lot. More than anyone, actually."

"I feel the same way! I mean, I thought...maybe you thought I was...stupid," he grumbled. "Which I am, but..."

"Only a little, because you seem to think I don't like you," he said, cracking a smile.

"So...if I like you, and you like me..." He held Blair's hand in his smaller one. "Aren't we more than friends?"

He smiled, wishing it were only that simple.

"I guess," he replied, trying to look more optimistic than he felt. "Yeah...I mean, if you want...!"

"So we're more than friends," he said happily. "So this can be our first date. Come on, I'm hungry--show me what food you got."
