Isn't Clarissa's Family the BEST?

Sighing, he pulled her close and kissed her on the cheek.

"My dear, I love you--isn't that enough?"

She smiled a bit more.

"That's true~"

"Then let's go meet your mother," he said, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

She nodded, and soon, they were at her parents house. It was the coffee shop from before, where she had first cornered Alois.

"Remember this place~?"

He nodded.

"How could I forget? Tjhe day we met was one of the most horrific experiences of my entire life, and I'm ancient."

She laughed.

"I'm honored." She walked inside and called out to her parents, holding Alois's hand. "Prepare yourself." She whispered to him.

He nodded, adjusting his tie.

A woman rushed into the room, not stopping until she was just inches away from Alois's face.

"So it's you!" She exclaimed, looking him over. "...So you are real."

Clarissa sighed. "Mom!" She complained.

He nodded, smiling awkwardly.

"Yes, I am very much real--pleased to make your acquaintance, ma'am." He bowed respectfully.

She stepped back and stared at Alois strangely.

"Dad! Get down here!" She screamed. A tall, scary man came down the stairs next. "What do you think?"

He grabbed Alois by the chin, yanking his head each way so he could look.

"Excuse me!" he exclaimed, taking a step back. "I would prefer if you didn't invade my personal space."

The tall man shrugged and walked back to the woman, saying something quietly to him. She screamed a third time, bringing two kids down the stairs. An elegant young woman and a tall, scary man.

The woman just stared at Alois, and the man laughed.

"What a fag." He replied offhandedly.

Clarissa actually gasped at that comment.

Alois glared, but said nothing.

"Clarissa, care to introduce us?..."

She nodded, gaining her composure again.

"Well, I'm sure you know mom and dad." She motioned to them. Then, she turned to her sister. "This is Winny. And that's my brother, Steven. He's going to answer to me tonight for that remark."

She giggled, obviously planning something unpleasant.

He placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I would hope you don't terrorize your--someday to be our--family, dear."

She smiled, but her mom frowned deeply.

"Your family? You're kidding, right?" She replied crossly.

"Mom!" Clarissa complained again. "Alois is my special someone, stop being so stubborn!"

Steven, however, harped on him next. "I don't want to share a family with this guy, he looks like a sissy. I could take him."

He shrugged.

"It's Clarissa's decision, isn't it?"

Clarissa smiled brightly at him, secretly quite happy with that response.

Finally, Winny said something. "I like him." She said, smiling at Clarissa. She seemed to be conflicted, however.

Alois smiled at her.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance as well, Winny."

Clarissa's mother sighed sadly.

"Clarissa, why would you do this to us?" She asked sadly, crossing her arms and glaring at Alois. "I mean, look at him. I can't believe you haven't figured out yet what your family is. And to think, it was just a few months before we told you."

Steven laughed slightly. "Poor Clarissa, your little photographic memory didn't help you out on this one."

Clarissa stared, confused. "Mother? And Steven, what is wrong with you? You're so mean today."

Steven scowled. "Look what you brought home."

"...An investor!" said Alois, already sensing that wasn't what they meant.

Clarissa nodded, fearing they thought that Alois was just some sort of deadbeat.

"See?" She offered.

Finally, her father spoke.

"...Clarissa, he's a vampire. We're vampire hunters. We have to kill him." He said bluntly.

Clarissa just stared, and then tried to laugh it off.

"Y-you guys, always playing pranks on me..."

Sighing, Alois pushed Clarissa behind him.

"She knows. I told her everything, and I love her--I've never taken a drop of her blood. But if you're still upset, I understand...it's just, I'd honestly rather talk this out than have things get violent."

Clarissa shoved Alois out of her way.

"Stupid! If things get violent, they'll go for you first." She positioned herself in front of him, crossing her arms. "Mother, father, we're leaving."

Her mom just shook her head.

"This is non-negotiable." She said coldly. "I'm sorry Alois, you seem nice, too."

"What's nonnegotiable?" he asked incredulously. "That I leave? Because if you won't talk it out, that's exactly what I plan on doing."
