He nodded.

"Yes, that's fine."

"The pajamas comfortable?" he asked, leading Charlie into the kitchen.

Charlie shrugged.

"I don't know. They're too big and their silky, so they keep wanting to fall off." He said truthfully. "I'm going to end up naked when I wake up."

He laughed.

"They were the smallest ones I had, sorry--would some cotton ones be more comfortable?"

"No, I'd like to end up naked." He deadpanned.

He sighed.

"...Which is all well and good, since you're sleeping on the couch, I suppose..."

"...The couch?" He looked absolutely heartbroken.

He raised an eyebrow.

"...Would you prefer the floor?...Am I missing something?"

Suddenly, he snapped back to his usual self.

"You're right; your bed is big enough for us both."

"Got it--I'll sleep on the couch."

"I'll sleep with you!" Charlie said cheerily.

"No, you get the bed," he insisted. "I sleep best when I'm alone."

Charlie looked heartbroken again.

"B-but I can't sleep alone...I need someone to be with me..."

Benoit frowned.

"Um...I have pillows."

He shook his head pitifully.

"It has to be warm and smell nice."

"I'm sure I don't smell nice," he replied flatly.

He smiled softly.

"You do."

"Then just spray my cologne on a pillow," he said frankly, filling a kettle with water.

"You wear cologne~?" He teased, grinning broadly.

"Yes--doesn't everyone?" he asked, sitting at the table.

"What kind?" He asked instead.

"It's a custom scent crafted by European artisans," he replied with a straight face.

"What do you like in a woman?" He asked, changing the subject slightly.

"I don't," he replied, shrugging. "One of my greater oddities, I'm afraid. If I had to choose, I'd say 'work ethic', because I find useless coworkers less than agreeable, but I don't particularly 'desire' women. Or anyone, for that matter...but I do apologize, I'm rambling." He cleared his throat politely.

"So you like men?" He asked automatically.
