I think Blair finally cracks and sobs and blubbers about how sorry he is and how much it hurt him to lie to Yuri and how he tried to kill himself twice, etc. But I think Yuri has to say something that causes Blair to finally just...be honest with him again. Yuri sat on the couch, hugging his legs to his chest and eating a cookie. Even something simple like this felt like a guilty pleasure; he knew he was growing to used to Blair's kindness. But he didn't want to think about that; he only wanted to think of the good food they'd eat for dinner, the decorated tree in the corner, the Christmas specials they had been watching together almost nonstop. It was almost like high school again.

Despite all the cheer, he could feel a growing weight in his stomach; it was almost that time again. He hadn't forgotten the day Blair had dumped him, even if it had been years ago. Nothing could erase it from his memory. It was like a scar, permanent and painful.

He didn't even want to think about it, not now. He forced himself to finish the cookie and focus his attention on the TV. Yes, another rewatching of Elf would make him feel better. Maybe.

Blair finished decorating his newest batch of cupcakes. Across the top they read "Go Out With Me <3" with perfect cursive. He had been practicing all night long on a scratch piece of paper, to make it perfect. He beamed, proud of himself beyond anything he had ever been proud of himself for. Yes, it was the perfect thing to ask Yuri out over.

He had been meaning to ask him for weeks, but like with anything important, he stalled. But now, on his fifty-seventh attempt, he would get it right.

Unfortunately, because Blair had written the writing in cursive...it was unreadable. It was curly, and beautiful, but it looked like a pretty pattern, at best. He proudly set the cupcakes in front of Yuri and waited happily.

"...so?" He asked, excited.

"Huh?" said Yuri, who had been lost in thought. "Oh, these? They look nice." He grabbed on and took a bite, smiling. "Taste good, too. Why, are they special?"

He was devastated. This had been his seventy ninth attempt! How could it have gone wrong?!

"Do you hate me or something?!" He demanded suddenly. "Huh?! You know what?! Never mind, no fucking cupcakes for you!"

He grabbed the tray and pulled it away from Yuri.

"If you're going to completely ignore all one thousand and ninety nine attempts, then fine!!"

"...What?" he asked, sincerely confused. "Blair, what are you even talking about? The swirly pattern is nice, okay? Sheezus, the fuck got into you?"

He groaned. Of course Yuri couldn't read his immaculate calligraphy! He set down the cupcakes, then sat down beside Yuri.

"...Look, for the past few weeks, I've...been trying to ask you something important." He replied, running his hand through his hair nervously. Well, here goes nothing.

Yuri flinched instinctively. After an awkward moment of silence, he laughed nervously.

"Haha, I'm not telling you what I got you for Christmas--don't be silly. That's against the rules, you cheater."

"No!" He groaned. "...That's it! I'm just going to say it, I'm tired of this stupid game!"

He promptly kissed Yuri on the lips and told him, "I love you. A lot, all right? I-I really want to be in a relationship. A real one. Like, where we go out in public together and watch movies and go on real dates."

God, he felt so much better getting this off his chest.

Yuri stared at him for a few minutes.

"Blair, this is a really goddamn weird joke," he said, blushing.

"NO!" He exclaimed, groaning again. "Look, I know you don't want to believe me, because I was...kind of a huge asshole about everything and we've had a bad history, but it's true!"

He swallowed nervously. "...For a really long time, I've wanted to be your boyfriend. Your official boyfriend. For real."

Yuri pulled Blair into a kiss, wrapping his arms around his neck.

"Let's just...please, not talk about it. It's around that time of year, and I don't even want to...can we just pick up where we left off? Before that happened?"

He nodded.

"...It's an anniversary for two things I'd like not to think about again." He mumbled, grimacing. "Let's just cuddle and eat cupcakes, alright?"

He smiled somewhat awkwardly.

"...That's really gay, you know that?" he teased, lightly punching Blair in the shoulder. "I just...you promise no more tricks this time, right? Because if you do, it's fine."

"Of course! I wouldn't even bother if I just planned on being a duck to you again." He replied, rolling his eyes. "So...cuddle?"

"Isn't that really gay?" he asked, holding onto Blair anyway. "I don't get you, sometimes, but whatever. Let's just watch the Mythbusters Christmas special." After a minute or so, he awkwardly kissed Blair on the cheek.

"...And I want those cupcakes."

He laughed, kissing Yuri on the neck.

"Fine, fine. I made them special for you, anyway." He replied, grinning. "They're your favorite."

"No they're not," he lied, even though they were. He fucking loved raspberry filling.

"...So, does this mean we're starting over? Or do you still want sex?" He spoke bluntly, but his ears remained red.

"Well. It means you can decide." He replied simply. "I'll do whatever it takes to make it up to you. Anything. Including becoming celibate for the rest of my entire life. If it makes you happy."

He grinned, but he was completely serious.

He avoided Blair's eyes sheepishly.

"...It's not like I don't like it, stupid. I said yes for a reason, you know."

He grinned.

"So, you still want it?" He teased him by saying, "it's 'cause I'm awesome in bed, huh? Right?"

"You're the only person I've ever had," he said defensively. "You don't need to be a jerk-off, Blair. I just...we should do it tonight, okay? As a couple for once, I guess..."

He kissed Yuri on the forehead.

"You're adorable." He replied, grinning. "If you really don't want sex, though, you could just say so. Are you sure you don't want to do something special tonight?"

"Like what? I just want to relax, is that so bad?" He could feel his face burning.

"If you don't want to do anything, it's fine, though."
