"Hey Man..."

"You, of course." He turned and smiled brightly as him.

"...what?" He asked, confused. "Worried...what? Why?"

"Didn't you say everyone else you were with was killed? How cold do you think I am?"

"Oh," Mars replied. He hadn't realized Priestly was dwelling on that. "...well, actually, it was...well, it wasn't quite like you're imagining it."

Mars sat up, pushing himself upright with his good hand.

"The men I was with weren't my friends, and to be very honest...I'm not mourning their deaths," he replied, narrowing his eyes in anger as he recalled the events. He shook his head.

"It's a long story and I'd...rather not. Suffice to say, I'm very through trusting hunters." He looked up at Priestly, as if to say, 'and that includes you'.

He chuckled.

"Have you ever trusted me? That doesn't mean I haven't come through for you."

He glared at Priestly before looking away. He didn't want to touch on the subject; best to not have some sort of fight before they went on a hunt together.

"I'm going to get changed and sleep. Go ahead and take the other bed, okay?" he said, standing up and rifling through his bag for his pajamas.

"Rainsford can have it," he replied. "Hurry, I'd like a shower as well."

"Then I'll sleep with Rainsford," he replied, standing and glaring at Priestly.

"I'm sure he'd enjoy the space, though."

"I'm not going to sleep with you!" He shouted suddenly, his fists clenched. He exhaled. "I mean, next to you. Or around you. Or...I'm fine! I'm going to shower!"

Childishly (and Mars knew it was childish too), he slammed the door to the bathroom and showered. When he finished, he towel dried his hair, then blow dried it simply to waste more time. He brushed his teeth and brushed his hair, trying to stall. But, eventually, he came out of the bathroom and hoped Priestly just didn't mention it.

Priestly was naked, lounging on the bed.

"Ah, you're done? Is it my turn now?"

Mars took one look at him before he looked away, gritting his teeth.

"Go ahead," he replied, throwing his clothes into the corner. He took out his laptop and laid on his bed.
