"Don't say that," he insisted. "If you plan to die on me, I refuse to touch you."

He shook his head.

"Not at all. Simply, if I were to die with you...I would be content."

"But I'm not going to die--what then?"

"I would watch over you, silly~"

"Wrong--I would never get close to you in the first place," he said, pulling away. "I...refuse."

Charlie looked at him.

"What...why?"

"I'm not going to get close to someone so they can just leave," he replied calmly. "Too high a risk."

"But I don't want to die. I just mean, if I did die, it...wouldn't be so terrible." He said simply.

"I'll make you a deal," said Benoit. "I'll sleep with you...but you have to promise you're serious. And to satisfy my needs in a relationship, you have to be serious about not dying on me."

He nodded.

"Of course. I would do anything for you."

"Then don't die," he whispered, pulling Charlie into a passionate embrace.

Charlie nuzzled him, squeezing him affectionately.

"I won't. I promise."
