A Particular Day in Autumn

"Morning," replied Priestly brightly, giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder. Rather than imagining Mars's lithe teen torso arching in pleasure, he tried to focus on where he'd find people to sleep with today.

He grinned at Priestly.

"So, what's your plan for today?" He took a bite of his cereal.

"Nothing much," he replied calmly. "I thought I might try to find some work, but nothing for sure yet...why?"

"Just wondering." He fibbed. "I mean, I don't have anything planned, so..."

He grinned.

"Do you want company? I know I haven't been home a lot lately...if you're just lonely, you should say so."

"We should, uhm, go out and do something fun! Together!"

Yes, Priestly, mention it sure sounds like a date, so Mars could be like, 'actually, yeah, that's what I was thinking...'.

"We should maybe go to the zoo, or to a movie, or maybe even to a restaurant..."

He laughed.

"Marsy, soon you'll have me thinking you swing the other way, silly goose~" He tousled Mars's hair affectionately.

"Uhm, actually..." He began, but the words caught in his throat. He couldn't breath suddenly. He coughed into his sleeve rather violently until his throat was clear. When it was he said, "...Never mind."

He laughed.

"It's fine, kiddo--I'll find something else to do."

"No, no, I never said we shouldn't do something! I'm so bored..." He groaned. "I'll get dressed and we can even go grocery shopping for all I care!"

Wow he was desperate.

He laughed.

"Silly Mars, we're set for the next two weeks! I just went yesterday, remember?"

Just stared at Priestly, unable to comprehend how he could possible not be picking up what he was putting down. What the fuck was he supposed to do, rip off his towel and shove his crotch into Priestly's face?

He groaned.

"Never mind..." He grumbled, toying with his cereal.

"You should get some clothes on," he commented, sipping his coffee. "Wouldn't want our little Mars bar to freeze."

That was so the last straw.

If Priestly was going to be that thick, Mars wasn't even going to be subtle anymore.

"You know I had a dream about you the other night." He blurted out, sipping his cereal milk.

He swore to God if Priestly didn't make some sort of knowing remark, he was going to flip his shit and throw his cereal onto him.

"Oh, really?" he asked with a smile. "What kind of dream?"

Well, that had gone better than he expected.

"A good one." He hinted. "I enjoyed it a lot."

He sipped his milk again, waiting.

"How delightful~" he chuckled. "What did we do, have an adventure?"

He stopped. He had to resist the urge to flip his shit. Resist. Urge. Don't. Flip. Shit.

He calmly sat his milk bowl down on the coffee table as he stood up. He turned and face Priestly, giving him the most indescribable look of, "are you fucking kidding me" ever seen within the entire universe.

It was indescribable mainly because it was really, really bad at conveying what Mars was feeling. Priestly frowned.

"Marsy, are you ill?...You look like you're in pain."

Mars flipped his shit.

"No, I'm not okay! You're stupid and dense and I hate you!" He shouted angrily. "I just wanted to do something fun with you today but you're stupid and won't even do that!"

He crossed his arms, forgetting that he really needed his arms to, I don't know, hold up his towel. So, naturally, it began inching down his waist, until it just fell off completely.

Priestly did his best to be a good priest and look away.

"Mars, you should go put on some clothes."

For once, Mars actually refused.

"No, I don't want to!" He exclaimed. "I'm gonna do whatever I want, even if that includes walking around naked all day long because you're stupid and I don't want to listen to your stupid rules anymore!"

"Mars, I have very few rules," he replied calmly. "But it would mean very much to me if you would respect my boundaries and get dressed while you're in my home."

Mars picked up his towel, threw it at Priestly them stomped off to go put on his clothes. Stupid Priestly, he hated him sometimes. Couldn't the man take a hint, anymore?! He used to be so good at finding hints that weren't even there!

Frustrated, he went back into the kitchen to gorge himself on eggs. He was fully clothed, in the most unrevealing outfit he owned.

Sighing deeply, Priestly figured it was about time he left for the day.

"Mars, I'm going!" he called without much cheer; for some reason, Mars seemed particularly touchy today. "I'll be back later, okay?"
