The Hero and Betrayer

"So a brute," he mumbled back, trying not to reveal too much pleasure in his voice. "How nice--not."

"I don't enjoy hurting people." He insisted, moving his hands around Tef's back, getting a bit off track every now and then. "I do, however, enjoy swordplay. It's like a dance, you know. It's wonderful and exciting. Duals and spars are the greatest! But in the real world, people just don't give up or accept defeat."

He sighed, pausing.

"...I don't like it, either."

Tef felt Bane's hands slowly inching to areas other than his back, but he pretended he couldn't.

"Then perhaps...we have something in common."

Bane couldn't help but smile at that, as he moved his hands again. Then, quite suddenly, he stopped.

"I'm sure you're clean by now." He teased lightly.

Tef paused, surprised, but he nodded.

"...Yes, I suppose. Thank you."

Bane smiled.

"Unless you need help, you know, with washing your hair or something."

"Are you going to insist again?" he asked irritably, really not irritated by the prospect at all.

"Yes." Bane fibbed. He really wouldn't, if Tef didn't agree.

"As you wish," he replied, leaning against Bane's chest.

Bane grinned and then laughed.

"I really like you." He said, pulling Tef into a biiiiiiiiig hug.

"Y-you're not washing anything!" he exclaimed dumbly, surprised. "Let go!..."

But he refused, pulling Tef into his lap.

"I will, I will." He fibbed.

Tef didn't struggle, embarrassed as he was.

"...Fine..."

Of course, Bane didn't. Instead, he played with Tef's hair, and gently, very gently, he planted a kiss on his forehead.

Tef blushed, unsure of how to respond.

"...What was that for?" he asked finally, not sounding very annoyed at all.

Bane just shrugged.

"Oh, I don't know."

"...This is kind of gay," he said, embarrassed.

Bane just gave him a look, actually unsure of what to say.

"...If that's not what you want, we should probably stop," he said awkwardly, trying to observe Bane's reaction.

Bane smiled slightly.

"Who said it's not what I want?"

Tef blushed further.

"...I'll have you know that I am a virgin, and I have never attempted such things with even a woman." He wasn't sure why he was blathering, but it seemed proper. "I've never kissed anyone before in my life."

"...Is this your way of rejecting me?" He asked cautiously, his hold on Tef obviously loosening. "Because that's fine, you know..."

It wasn't fine, though, and it showed on Bane's face quite a bit.

"Did I say anything of the sort?" he retorted. "I just thought you should know--would you have preferred lies?"

"No." He smiled again. "Does this mean you aren't rejecting me? We can, uh, you know. Be more than friends...?"

"...If you want and even know how," he replied after several awkward minutes of thought.
