For Lack Of A Better Tittle: NUNS!

She unbuttoned her blouse a bit, so she could retrieve her rosary.

"I always wear it, along with my other rosary." She pulled it out so she could show Priestly. "It's old, but that's all I know about it."

"Interesting," he murmured as he pored over it. "I imagine it protects you well."

She looked confused.

"It does? But why? Is it really special? I thought it was just old."

He laughed.

"My dear, old things always have power--why, just look at old people. Smart as a whip."

"Oh." She smiled. "You're right. What's so special about it, though?"

It seems to have accumulated power over the course of its existence, as old things are wont to do," he explained. "And oddly enough, it has a weird aura emanating from it...probably not that important, though."

She smiled, tucking it back beneath her shirt.

"Thank you for telling me, though. Most of the people I asked could only tell me it was really old."

"I'm not most people," he replied with a suggestive wink.

She laughed.

"I know, I know." She rolled her eyes. "Now, what else should I know about you?"

He shrugged. "I'm not a Pisces. I prefer club music. I enjoy sex very much, and it's probably one of my favorite activities. I love the way painted nails look. I enjoy prayer and spreading the word of God."

She glanced at her nails. Unpainted, of course, and not very well taken care of. She quietly moved her hands onto her lap.

"Well. That's...interesting."

And kind of creepy.

He grinned sheepishly.

"I apologize, I'm not very interesting. I'm a man of the Lord with simple pleasures who got his US citizenship at age nine. Not much to say."

"Oh. You weren't born here?" She asked, smiling at him interested.

He shook his head.

"No, not at all. My parents were Welsh."

"Oh, really? Lucky. My family has always been American; my lineage is basically American and British. It's so boring, really."

He shrugged.

"My lineage is full of betrayal and bloodshed and other horrible things; I don't know, I think I'd love a boring family."

She nodded.

"I suppose you're right...I know I should be lucky that the worst thing to happen to my family only happened recently...But it's hard to feel lucky about any sort of terribly family occurrence. Especially mine."

"I understand," he said calmly. "My parents were slaughtered, though I was not so unlucky as to see it. I don't really have a family, anymore." Priestly laughed. "I've been a lone drifter since I was a teen."

"Do you have any siblings?" She asked, smiling a bit. She missed her older brother.

"Why does it matter?" he asked, obviously evading the question. "I have no family."

She shrugged.

"I really looked up to my older brother, so I just wondered."

"I understand the feeling," he said vaguely.

She shrugged it off and decided to change the subject.

"So, you know what's going on at the nunnery?"

"It's likely one of two things," he said as their food that they totally ordered arrived. He slowly ate a strawberry from his plate, savoring each bite.

She took an egg and nibbled on it.

"Yeah?"
