I Never Break Promises

"Ah...so this is a promise?" he asked, surprised. He grabbed Inge's hands in his huge ones. "I promise, then--I'll be your girlfriend when you want me to."

He smiled to himself, looking away.

"Yes...it's a promise."

"...So, are we boyfriends now?" he asked after a moment of awkward silence.

"N-no! I mean...if you want, but what I meant was..." He sighed. "...do I have to explain it again...?"

He shook his head, blushing. "I just...I'll do anything you want me to, okay? I wanna be a good boyfriend, and a good friend."

He smiled, blushing as well.

"No, I just...if we end up single and alone when we're older, we should start dating, then. Just in case, you know?"

He nodded eagerly.

"Okay! But how much older...like, sophomore year, or something?"

"Oh. That sounds fine." He replied, smiling softly. "So, it's a promise, right?"

He nodded eagerly.

"Yeah, of course! I'll do it or die trying, bro!"

He laughed, even though he was half sure it wasn't a joke.

"Sophomore year, then..."

It was the beginning of Sophomore year, and Tristan and Inge both knew what that meant. It was the first weekend off, and Inge had invited Tristan over for an important reason. While he waited for him to arrive, he chewed on some Japanese candy and read a dirty porno mag from Germany.

Damn, foreigners made some good shit.

Tristan let himself in, looking awkward.

"...Inge?" he called, shutting the door and locking it. "I'm uh, here..." He wrung his hands awkwardly; he had no clue what he was doing here. He was still a virgin, and an awkward one at that; what were boyfriends even supposed to do?

Inge grinned at him and put away his porn...into an even bigger pile of porn. His mom had stopped trying to confiscate them once they had gotten too weird for her to even look at.

"Hey!" He greeted, smiling. "So, you know what year it is, right? Remember our promise? I just wanted to make sure it was still on and everything."

He had changed a lot from middle school, via influence by older penpals from foreign countries. Those influences had been bad, at best.

Tristan smiled, trying to pull Inge into a customary bear hug. Even though he strove to make it appear natural, his nervousness showed.

"Of course I remember," he said, smiling shyly. "Though I think I'm kinda nervous--I just need to get my head in the game, I'll be fine.

"Hey, did you ever see that movie? It was good, huh?"

Without any warning, he grabbed Tristan's shirt and pulled him down into a kiss. It was a chaste kiss, but a kiss nonetheless.

"Huh. So that's what it's like." He replied, letting him go. "Huh? Movie? I don't remember. So, we're dating now, right?"

He nodded, blushing. That had been his first kiss, but with Inge it was alright.

"Yeah. Yeah, we are. So we're both the boyfriend? What should we do...?"

He grinned devilishly.

"Let's watch a movie together." He replied, sitting up and moving into the living room. As usual, his mom was gone, off to work at one of her temp jobs. The living room was all to them.

"Okay," he said brightly, sitting down on the couch. "What're we watching? Is it the Princess Bride? That movie's my favorite, if you didn't know."

"Nope, not that movie this time." He turned on the TV and hit play on the DVD player. He had set it up special, just for when Tristan came over. He sat down on Tristan's lap, grinning up at him. "You'll see. I think you'll like it, it's pretty vanilla."

Tristan hugged Inge close like normal, completely oblivious to what was about to happen. Watching porn had never occurred to him; sex was something you did with someone you liked, right?

"So we still get to hug, right? But should we kiss a lot, too? I don't think I've ever thought about kissing you before." He awkwardly placed his hand over Inge's.

"Yes. Among other things he replied, watching the TV intently. The intro to the porn was playing. It was boring, and normal, and badly acted. It was gay porn, but that was to be expected. He grinned widely, waiting for Tristan's reaction. This was going to be either really good for him, or really bad. Either way, it'd be interesting.

Besides, it was just a little playful fun.

"What other things?" he asked, paying more attention to Inge's face than the TV.

Inge shushed him, focusing on the TV completely. Yes. They were sloppily making out now. Yes, clothes were coming off left and right!

He grinned even wider. This porn was boring, it wasn't enough to get him hard, really, anymore, but it should do the trick for Tristan. He hoped.

He looked up at Tristan expectantly, waiting for his reaction.

Tristan, who had finally caught sight of the TV, just kind of stared.

"...I've never seen a movie like this," he said, confused. The men onscreen took it to a bed, ripping off the rest of their clothes until they were completely naked. He blushed slightly.

"The one on the right is cute," he commented politely.

...That was it?

Inge stared at him. How? How was he not affected?! He glanced at the TV again. Oh, NOW they were REALLY going at it! Come on, Tristan had to be feeling something more than just awkwardness.

He looked at him again, hoping.

Tristan could feel himself growing hard; feeling both bashful and confused, he looked at Inge instead of the movie.

"Inge, why are we watching this? If you want em to think you're cute too, you can just say so--I mean, not that you're not cute, I just didn't really think of you as attractive cute I guess I'm trying to say? I just...this seems odd, I'm sorry. I'm a virgin so I'm sorry if this is correct."
