Mimey watched him, still chucking on the inside.

Right on time, I see.

His cheeks turned pink.

"Of course I'm right on time." He said, slightly grumpy.

Cecil nodded slightly.

"I didn't take a nap and wake up late, by the way." He said offhandedly.

...I can tell? he mimed awkwardly. Why did you want to eat together, anyway?

He paused between his net bite of food to say, "Because I like you."

He gave him an odd look, taking a bite of his now tepid mashed potatoes. He signed the letters "OK", shrugging awkwardly.

He frowned slightly.

"Is something wrong with that?"

...You don't like anyone, he signed after a thoughtful pause.

He blinked. Actually, that was right.

"...so?" He said, blushing slightly.

So it's weird, he said honestly. I'm just curious, is all.

"It's not that strange, you know. I would like more people if they weren't disgusting and terrible." He replied simply.

He blinked.

He smiled dreamily.

Shrugging, he dug into his food; he was hungry after all his waiting.

"Well..." He said, taking a bit so he could pause longer. "How's the food?"

Cold, he signed simply, still eating.

He frowned.

"...Do excuse my tardiness."

Mimey simply smiled in response, shaking his head. He made the "OK" sign with his hand.

"...Are you sure?"

Head nod in response.

"...positive?" He only asked because he had no idea what else to talk about.

He nodded again.

He nodded slightly and fell silent, knowing he should have prepared better.

Do you like the food? he asked after a few minutes of silence.
