Not Interested

Lex sat at the bar, and despite the bar being rather full, the seats on both sides of him were completely empty. He didn't seem to notice, or maybe he'd just gotten used to the phenomenon. He drank his beer in peace no matter the reason, occasionally looking around the bar as if he were waiting for someone.

He wasn't a bad looking guy, and he probably stood about six foot in all. He was widely built with dark skin and short, curly hair. But his body was adorned with scars from head to to. It seemed almost impossible for him to function with the numerous scars all over his body. His tight white t-shirt and jeans didn't do much to cover his scars, either, leaving them completely out in the open.

Lex ordered another beer with a slight sigh.

A petite woman with large hips slid into the seat next to his and shot him a smile. She wore a tiny black dress and a pair of ridiculous heels, common enough attire. It was her eyes that stood out; one of them was a mesmerizing pink, and the other was covered by a black, lacy eyepatch.

"Hey there, sugar. Come here often?" she giggled. "What're you having?"

"Cheap shit," he replied, before he got a good look at her. He paused and stared at her eyes for a bit longer than he intended before he finally said, "what got you?" he motioned to her eye with a curious look on his face.

"I'll tell you if you let me buy you a drink," she replied, toying with her long pink hair. "Order anything you like--money isn't an object."

Lex shrugged.

"Smithwick's it is, then," he told the bartender with a grin. "So, tell me the story then."

She pulled the money from her tiny black clutch and slammed it on the counter with a smile.

"Very well. I was born this way--that eye has never worked properly. I find this far more fashionable than wearing sunglasses indoors."

"Well, that's not nearly as exciting as the tale I was dreaming up," Lex admitted with a toothy grin. "Thanks for the beer, by the way. Irish ale's my favorite."

"No problem," she purred. "And if you're curious, I can show you what's under the eye patch. Or, you know...what's under something else." She uncrossed and recrossed her legs, just slowly enough that he could see her panties for a split second.

Lex wrinkled his nose.

"Uh, look, I'm sorry if you thought this was going anywhere, but, uh...well, I'm waiting for someone else, so," he shrugged, taking a long gulp of his beer.

She grinned. "Oh really? And what does she have that I don't?" She toyed with the neckline of her dress, tugging it so as to reveal a little bit more cleavage.

Lex grinned widely.

"Well for starters, a penis. Well, probably anyway. I didn't ask, but the chances are pretty high," he replied wryly.

She scrunched up her nose.

"...Are you honestly turning me down?" She pulled a card out of her bra and handed it to him; it read, "Official Escort of the Lady Killer Mansion." "You must have heard of Lady Killer magazine--I'm one of the Ladies! You'd be crazy to turn down this invitation."

"Of course I've heard of it, but unless they feature men now too, I'm not interested," he handed her back her card. "Sorry missy. Seems like you just picked the wrong guy. Try, well, probably any other guy in here and he'll jump at the chance. 'sides," he finished off his glass of beer. "I'm not even that good looking. The hell did you choose me, anyway?"

She bit her lip. "...What if I told you there were men working there?"

He rose a thick, scarred eyebrow.

"For real? You know, I feel like that would have made news or something, but I haven't heard anything about that," he insisted.

"It's hush-hush right now--we're doing it experimentally. If it's a success, and the boss likes it, it'll become news. Now, do you want in or not?" She waved the card at him again.

Lex snatched the card from her.

"What'll it cost me?" he asked suspiciously, looking the card over.

"Nothing--I said it's experimental, isn't it? We need men willing to test it out, is all. If you won't accept my invitation to come play with me...I guess it's my job to ask you to play with one of our new Gentlemen." She pouted slightly. "Come on, decide before I change my mind--you're the first man to ever turn me down."

Lex grunted and shrugged.

"Sure, why not? As long as it doesn't cost me anything..." he said. "So, what are the details?"

"There's an address on the card. Tell them Juliet sent you at the gate. Go whenever you feel like...having some fun, shall we say. "

Lex shrugged.

"Guess I'll try it out." He said. "Just don't hold your breath, sweet thing."

She scowled. "...I'm sure you'll find something you like at the mansion. Something."

Lex waved at the guard as he passed through the gate. Upon entering the mansion he realized there was already way too many girls. "I just need to meet Juliet," he insisted, even as women swooned over him.

"Why would you be looking for her?" asked a voice from behind him. The man was tall and muscular, and wore a tight black shirt that showcased his pecs. His clothes left very little to the imagination. But the most notable thing about him was his eyes--one of them was covered by a black, lacy patch.

"You're the one from the bar, right? Juliet was telling me about you. I'm...Julian."

Lex peered down at him. "You Juliet's twin brother or something? The hell did you manage to end up working at the same place?" he asked.
