A Particular Day in Autumn

Mars skipped into the kitchen and got the walnuts and the strawberries. He hummed to himself happily as he brought it back into the room and sat down.

"I'm excited~" He admitted. "I bet you have really good taste in movies."

Priestly laughed, popping a strawberry into his mouth. He placed a second one in Mars's.

"I can only hope my taste is good, Marsy-Pie~"

He smiled, sucking on the strawberry. As is his natural prerogative with food that was a shape in which he could suck on. Like eggs and lollipops and pickles and cucumbers. He hardly even noticed that he did it anymore.

Priestly smiled, though less jovially than normal. If anything, he seemed extremely distracted by Mars's actions. Coughing, he pressed play and pulled Mars close. Maybe if he focused on the movie, it would be easier.

Mars snuggled closer, but he continued to eat the strawberry in the most innocently suggestive way he could. He took off the leaved and nibbled the top until there was a hole in which he would properly stick his tongue into. He did it all very absently, as his focus was actually on the movie.

Priestly found it harder and harder to focus on the movie, but he persevered anyway.

Finally, Mars finished his strawberry. Quietly, he asked, "Can you pass me the nuts?"

Priestly's eyes widened, and he frowned.

"Excuse me?" he asked. Surely he had heard that wrong.

Mars vaguely gestured.

"Can you hand me the nuts? I want some." He said, looking confused as to why Priestly wasn't understanding him.

"...I'm not quite sure what you're asking," he replied slowly.

Mars just gave him a look.

"...the nuts?" He pointed to them.

He laughed awkwardly, lightly shoving Mars.

"Mars, don't use such language."

Mars looked more confused than ever. Deciding Priestly was just joking with him (or something) he leaned over him and grabbed the walnuts himself.

Priestly just stared, bewildered. He stared, and stared some more, until he began to laugh; he laughed until he doubled over.

Mars scooted away from Priestly, completely terrified. What had he done?

"U-um...Priestly...?" He asked quietly. "A-are you okay...?"

He took deep breaths, finally calming down. He leaned close to Mars, smiling broadly.

"Mars...what do you think of me?"

Mars tried to smile, but he was still shocked and confused.

"Uhm, I really like you, of course." He said truthfully.

"Well, then--please explain those dreams you were mentioning the other day," he said playfully, still keeping his hands chastely at his sides.

He flushed slightly red.

"Uhm, which dreams? Th-the ones involving you?" He asked nervously, suddenly unable to look at Priestly. Where had his confidence gone?

He nodded seriously.

"Yes. Tell me every detail, I swear it's important."

He swallowed.

"W-well, I mean, they were sort of..." He coughed, feeling his face become even redder. "...inappropriate."

"I'm a priest," he said gently, smiling. "If you tell me, any sin will be absolved."

Mars attempted to hide his face with his arms.

"W-well...It was...you and me. Alone. In your bed." He cleared his throat nervously. "...and we cuddled. And some other stuff. That's it."

"Explain the other stuff. What were we wearing, by the way?"

"Oh, um...wearing." The simple answer was, "...nothing."

Mars tried to turn away further. "I-I uhm...Other stuff...It was just, well, a little bit of...kissing is all. That's it. Completely it."
