Iris Goes on a Bender and Meets an Elf

Yes, Tethis thought. Iris would want to forget this day, for certain.

"Yes, you're right," he said, climbing on top of Iris. "We will sleep together, and you will forget everything about today..."

He smiled, hiccuping.

"Really? You still like me?" He fumbled awkwardly with his cape, which by now smelled heavily of alcohol.

He smiled at Iris, before he gently touched the back of his neck.

"If you can take off your clothes, we will sleep together," he replied, thoroughly not thinking Iris could.

He tossed his cape onto the floor, fumbling with his pants.

"Sure, of course...done this lots of times..."

"Hmm," he said, unimpressed. He prayed the boy would jut fall asleep.

And Iris did pass out, just as he attempted to reach into Tethis's pants. He groaned in his sleep, mumbling something about Peonies. Or maybe Peony. It was hard to tell, as he had been practically unintelligible while awake.

The next morning, Tethis sat down next to Iris.

"I made you a traditional elven breakfast," he said. "Eat, then we will talk."

Iris rolled over, groaning.

"Just let me sleep...everything hurts. You can mind the shop for a day, can't you, Peony?" He pulled a pillow over his head.

He shook Iris.

"Please wake up. I am not your brother...."

He rolled back over, opening his eyes slightly.

"Did he bring you home?...Who the hell are you? Please leave me alone, my head hurts."

"Eat. Then we talk." he insisted.

He looked around, his eyes still squinted; it was far too bright in this tent, goddammit. Only, it wasn't the tent; he didn't know this room. His heart skipped a beat and he was suddenly very much awake.

"...Where am I?" he asked quietly. "What have I done? I'm not touching anything until you tell me what's going on. Why does my head hurt so badly?"

"I am an elf, you were...drunk last night. I saved you. I have...news about your brother," he said quietly.

"Is he angry? Worried?" he asked, rubbing his eyes. "I didn't think he'd notice I was gone..."

"He's dead," he said, that guilt in his stomach feeling as heavy as a cannonball.

"...Don't try to scare me like that," he said, laughing nervously and then wincing when it hurt. "Come on, I gotta go home--I'm pretty sure I'm banned from even this part of the city."

"I am an elf assassin, Tethis. I killed your brother last night." he said bluntly. "Go home. You will find it true."

"How much did he pay you to scare me?" he asked, massaging his temples. "This was really kind of overboard, but at least he learned his lesson--you can stop now, I'm going home.

"I didn't do anything too bad, did I? I only really remember getting drunk."

He slipped out of bed, surprised to find he was missing his cape.

"...Where did I put my cape?...augh."

"You tried to have sex with me, before you passed out." he replied. "But I am serious. You're brother is dead."

"I said you can stop," he said, annoyance creeping into his voice. "I'm really sorry I came onto you, but I need to get home. Do you know where I left my cape?"

"You will see when you get home, what I mean," he said quietly, handing him the cape.
