"What do you mean?" he asked. "I enjoy the chat we're having right now."

"I mean, you should tell me more about your work and stuff." She said, obviously extremely interested. "Since, I guess you're probably pretty busy right now, so..."

He smiled gently.

"I will need rest before I perform the exorcism--perhaps you can visit me at my hotel."

"Well..." She bit her lip. She wasn't really supposed to leave, but she really couldn't turn down his offer. She had to ask him if she could go with him. "Alright. What hotel and room? And what time?"

"The Motel 6 on the outskirts of town," he replied brightly. "Room 246. I can give you a ride."

She smiled.

"That'd be much better than walking. Thank you!" She toyed with her rosary. "When'll we be leaving?"

"As soon as you'd like, Sister Carmel," he said with a wink. "We can even get some lunch, if you'd like...I'll buy you any sweet for dessert. My treat."

"Oh, lunch?" She blushed suddenly, shaking her head. There was no way she could eat in front of him; everyone made fun of her terrible table manners as it was. "No...but I would like a Mars bar."

He smiled, kissing her hand again.

"I will buy you all the Mars Bars you want--but won't you still be hungry? I hear there's a good place for burgers in town."

She shook her head rapidly.

"No! I'll be fine. I just...we should go and talk, is all." She replied, trying to hide her blush.

"I'd be glad to, whenever you're ready." He tapped the wall again. "Interesting. The real question still remains, but I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough."

"Really? Good!" She exclaimed happily. "Good, thank you!"

She dusted off her skirt.

"Well...I just have to grab something from my room, so it'll only be a few minutes."

He nodded graciously.

"Yes, of course. I'll wait here, if you don't mind?"

She nodded and bolted off, forgetting she wasn't allowed to run.

In a few minutes she returned, flushed from all her running.

"Alright! I'm ready!" She said happily.

"Excellent," he said, holding out his arm for her to take. "And you're sure you're not hungry, Sister? I must confess I am, but to eat alone in front of company would be rude, right?"

"Oh, no, it's fine..." She bit her lip. "Well...I could go for some eggs, actually."

She refused to take his arm, pretending as it he hadn't offered it.

"Also, once we're outside of here...You can call me Carmel."

He nodded, pulling his arm back.

"Of course. You can call me Priestly. Though to be honest, I think you need a cute nickname--never mind, I'll think of something soon. Is there a place in town you'd prefer to eat at, or should we just hit the first diner we find?" He patted her on the head affectionately, leading the way to his car.

She shrugged.

"No, anywhere is fine. As long as they have eggs."

He slid into the front seat, buckling his seatbelt.

"Remember your safety," he said brightly. "Well, I'm thrilled you want to get to know me better, Carmel--ask away. If you have questions, that is. Mine can wait."

She marveled at the car.

"I haven't been inside a car in a really long time." She sat down in the front seat, buckling her seatbelt. "Could we stop at your hotel first? I really want to change out of these clothes. It'll only take a minute."

"Sure," he said. "Pay no mind to the bed." With no explanation of his words, he quickly drove her to the hotel, parking neatly. "It's up some stairs now, I hope you don't mind."

"No, of course not. If you give me the key, I can just let myself in and change really fast." She offered, holding out her hand.

"Nonsense, I'll walk you up," he said, then proceeded to do just that. He held the door open, revealing a room that was very obviously supposed to be for truckers, prostitutes, or both. "I know it's simply garish, but a priest's salary isn't overly much..."

"Oh, that's terrible!" She exclaimed, horrified. "Why not?"

She stepped inside, placing her duffel bag on the table. She pulled out her neatly folded clothes and walked towards the bathroom.

"Just a minute, then I'm gonna ask you a whole bunch of questions!"

He nodded, smiling.

"As you wish, Carmel."
