Meeting in a Motel Lobby

Ace wiped the sweat from his brow, letting out a happy laugh.

"Fuckin' awesome!! Man, this was so much fun," he laughed again, leaning over the demon to examine it more thoroughly. "Yep, definitely dead. You wanna make sure? Ensure my victory?"

He chuckled.

"I told you, I don't have to be religious or misguided or whatever you call it. All I need to kill demons..." he moved over to Ulric, grabbing his hair and violently poking him in the forehead.

"It's right up there for me."

"Ow!" he shrieked, violently shoving Ace away. "Who said you could touch me?!"

"I did, because I own your ass now," he replied, grinning widely. "We made a bet, and I'm pretty sure lying is a sin, and you made a promise so...you better keep your damn promise."

"You can tell me to do one thing, one thing!" he insisted.

"Alright, the one thing I want you to do is stay by my side until I tell you to leave. I want you to travel with me," he grinned widely. "Got it?"

Ulric groaned loudly.

"No, I refuse--it doesn't count, it has to be a one-time thing!"

"Does it?" he asked curiously. "I don't remember specifying that...besides, you would have told me to leave you alone forever. That's not a one time thing, now is it? If you were going to do something that potentially lasts forever, then I'm going to do the same thing and you can't stop me, can you? Because you and I both know that I'm stronger than you are."

He glowered at Ace, crossing his arms and hunching his back.

"I despise you," he said simply, shrugging. "I don't have to be happy about coming with you, and I'm not."

"I know you aren't, but I am," he replied happily. "I've been lonely, and you're attractive. It's perfect. I could stare at you all day but I have better things to be doing. Come on, let's pack up and go somewhere else where we can do more hunting."

"What will you do if I just leave?" he asked, clutching his bag.

"Nothing, I suppose," he replied, shrugging. "I could kill you, but that's not very fun. I'd prefer you alive. Perhaps we'll meet again, if fate decides. But if you leave, I'm sure it will weigh on your silly little conscious. Breaking promises and lying and all that. Sinful."

He snorted, though he knew Ace was right.

"...Where would we even go together. You saw how little money I had--it's impossible."

"I take odd jobs, save up money in a town, then move on. Kill demons on the way. Aren't you doing the same thing?" he asked curiously.

"I do my job, I don't take on others," he said, appalled. "My money is the remains of what I had saved up when I left."

"So, basically, you're broke. Lucky for you, I have enough money saved up to hit the road. You have a car?"

"I've been using public transportation he admitted," his voice wavering slightly with embarrassment. "Why, do you own a car?"

"Of course. It's a piece of shit, but it's my baby," he shrugged. "You can sit up front, the backseat...well, I've fucked quite a few people back there, I don't think you want to sit back there. Front seats are clean though. Well, mostly clean, you should probably cut me off before I go into details, feel free to cut me off whenever I get too TMI-y since, well, I can't help myself most of the time."

Ulric just stared at him with horror.

"...Surely I'm allowed to decline if going with you will affect my mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health."

"Physical health? No. The rest? Probably, I'm not gonna lie," he replied, laughing. "You'll be pretty fucked up if you travel with me. But I'm lonely, and I like you. So, you it is. Guess fate just kicked you in the ass.

"Okay, you know what? Fine, you have a choice. If you don't want to go with me, then you can just sleep with me. Let me fuck you senseless for one whole night. Twelve entire hours of me doing whatever I want to you.

"It's your choice."

"Twelve hours?!" he exclaimed incredulously. "That's not--you can't--we'd both die!"

"How do you know?" He asked, tapping his chin. "I've done it before. I mean, you take breaks of course. Eat, drink, recharge. Maybe sleep for half an hour. Then, it's back to fucking. Twelve hours of that wonderful schedule. Mm, I could live life like that forever."

He laughed.

"So, your choice."

"...You want to kill me," he breathed, baffled. "You're actually trying to murder me--what did I ever do to you?"

He laughed heartily.

"I'm not!" he replied, chuckling still. "Why would you think that? You're apt to die hunting alone, anyway, what's the big deal? Sex or partnership. It seems like an obvious choice."

"As if," he sneered. "It's like a choice between death by knives or death by shards of glass."

"I can assure you that sex with me is nothing like either of those," he replied, grinning. "But really, choose."
