Mars and Priestly Eat Breakfast

"Oh please, Mars, I was joking," he said, only half joking. "Come, now!"

"I don't believe you!" he insisted, rolling around on the couch until he accidentally fell off.

"You did this!" he shrieked.

Priestly chuckled and scooped him up into his arms.

"Shush now, Marsy, it's fine...I'll make you those eggs." He kissed him on the forehead.

"Let me gooooooo," he whined, flailing weakly.

He complied, placing him on the couch.

"Now you relax, and let Priestly cook breakfast." He made his way to the kitchen, swaying his hips as he walked. He returned only to hand Mars a mug of scalding tea, then returned.

Soon the sound and smell of sizzling eggs and bacon filled the house as the red morning light began to stream through the windows.

Mars sighed deeply, relaxing into the blankets. He felt just a bit better, thinking about eating eggs and snuggling with Priestly.

"Mars, are you well enough to come eat in the kitchen?" Priestly called after a time. There was a loud clink as he presumably set dishes down on the counter.

"No," he fibbed.

"Then I guess I'll eat all of these delicious eggs by myself!"

"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" Mars groaned, crawling out of his blankets. He was cold.

"Just try walking a little, okay?"

Mars sniffled and stalked into the kitchen, sneezing into his sleeve.

"Come on, here's a big plat of breakfast," he said, pushing it toward Mars. "This way you don't spill any on your nice warm blankets."

Mars grumbled as he sat down, sniffling.

"Tissues?" he asked, setting a box on the counter. For some reason, there was a box in more or less every room of Priestly's house.
