Just Two Cool Guys

His heart weighing heavily in his chest, Jaden trudged up to Curtis's front door, Hallmark card in hand.

He had to tell Curtis. He had fucked up, and it hurt, but he had to tell him.

Curtis yawned, opening the door in his cute pajamas. Mainly they were cute because they were just his boxers, which had little hearts on them. His hair was a mess and he looked half alive, but he opened the door anyway.

Jaden stood outside, pouting with shame.

"...Curtis, I made a mistake."

Curtis rubbed his sleepy eyes.

"...you did what?"

"...I made a mistake...I should probably come inside." he stepped past Curtis, wringing his hands. "Did you just wake up?"

Curtis blinked.

"Wake up?" He thought for a few moments, before it all started to click. "...yes."

He had passed out just a few minutes ago, after countless hours of research. As usual, it had been unfruitful. Still, he felt like there was something he was just missing...

Unable to take it any more, he pulled Curtis into a hug.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" he exclaimed, crying.

Curtis hugged him back, confused.

"...why?" He became a little more awake as he realized what was going on. "What? What happened? Jaden?"

He buried his face in Curtis's shoulder.

"I...I got drunk, and..."

"....and?" He wasn't surprised; Jaden did that all the time.

"...Curtis, I woke up in a stranger's bed..."

Suddenly, that changed things.

"...you..." He snarled. "You did what?!"

"Curtis, I think I was raped," he mumbled completely ashamed. "I think I had sex with someone else..."

Curtis shoved him away.

"You slept with someone else?!"

He nodded.

"I...I think so. I don't remember much but--oh God, Curtis, I'm sorry! I'll make it up you, I swear! I even got tested--I'm still clean, so we'll be fine..." He fell to his knees, grasping Curtis's hand. "I'm sorry..."

Curtis ground his teeth together, feeling his normally passive anger well up into his throat.

"Get out." He said, calmly as he could. "Get out, now!"

Jaden looked like a kicked puppy.

"But Curtis...I love you..."

Curtis looked down on him in a way that perfectly mimicked Noire's usual stance.

"Get out before I make you get out. NOW!"

"Please...I can fix this," he whimpered.

Curtis glared at him.

"Not now. Get out. Come back later."

Nodding reluctantly, Jaden slowly trudged out of the apartment.

Meanwhile, Noire Kissmet stalked the streets, causing misfortune upon every human being (and a few unfortunate animals) he met. Once he was satisfied, Curtis returned home and slumped onto his bed, covering his head in his hands.

"...Why would you do this to me...?" He asked himself.

There was a knock on the door moments later.

He glanced in the mirror and made sure Noire was carefully tucked away. Curtis adjusted his hair and opened the door, still not in the mood for human interaction.

Jaden stood outside, holding a ridiculous amount of balloons.

"Please take me back," he blurted before he could say anything else.
