When Mars Was A Bitch and Priestly Was A Pedophile

"Promise," he said, kissing him on the cheek.

He groaned; suddenly he hated this dick even more.

"YES! Okay?! Just...don't kill me, please." He whimpered pathetically.

Priestly let go, still smiling.

"Run along, now, before someone get hurt. I'm referring to you in this context, if it wasn't clear."

Begrudgingly, the demon exorcised himself. He jumped ship, like he promised he would, and left the priest to recover. Of course, the priest passed out the second his body was vacant.

Meanwhile, Mars watched from outside the church, horrified. Priestly wasn't a good person, was he?

Priestly caught the priest, gently setting him down on the floor.

"Father?" he asked, lightly shaking his shoulder. "Father, are you alright?"

A few moments later, Father Mason snapped back.

"T-tell Mars to run!" He insisted, sitting up and nearly passing out again. "T-the demons...!"

Cyprus hurried over to them, leaning next to the priest. "Father Mason, are you alright?!"

"Mars?" He asked, blinking. "You're alright...?"

"Mars?" asked Priestly, confused. "Father, are you still feeling ill? This is Cyprus--I just cured you of possession, at his request." He winked at Cyprus, hoping to score a few points.

Cyprus hit Priestly in the stomach.

"He's talking about me, stupid." He replied, turning back to the Father. "It's fine now, Father Mason. I know this is sudden, but I'm going to go now. I told you I'd be leaving eventually, right? I can stay until you get back on your feet, though, of course."

Priestly rubbed his stomach, wincing.

"Wait, you're going somewhere? I wouldn't advise it--you could get hurt on your own."

Mars looked over at him, wondering briefly if Priestly was an idiot.

"No, you promised to take me." He said, suddenly serious. "If you even try to change your mind, I will hunt you down."

He frowned, briefly wondering if Mars was brain-damaged.

"But you dislike me, don't you? I'm not abducting you from your home, Cyprus--if that is even your name."

"No. I understand everything, now." He smiled. "Oh, and my name is Cyprus, stupid. Mars is...a nicknamed my father gave to me."

He groaned. "...Please don't use it."

"Mars?" he asked, beaming again. "What a delightful name! Do you hear that, Father Mason? It's adorable, perfect for the young lad.

"Very well then, Mars, if you insist I'll bring you along." He winked, extending his hand.

Mars shook his hand begrudgingly. He really hated this man, almost as much as he respected him.

"I just...I'll go pack and make arrangements, okay?"

"I'll kiss the father goodbye!" he said brightly, patting Father Mason on the back. "Hurry back, now."

Mars put his things into the back of Priestly's car, finally having gathered up everything he owned. Half of it was hunting supplies he had never used, but he hoped it would come in handy sometime.

"There, I'm ready." He replied, sitting in the front seat. "Oh, it's okay if I sit up here, right?"

Priestly nodded, patting Mars awkwardly on the chest.

"Of course, kiddo--now, let's hit the road! You get to pick the first restaurant we stop at, okay?"

"Don't touch me." He said, glaring. "I'm not hungry, so, you can pick, I guess."

He tried to smile, but something about being trapped in a car with this man felt uneasy.

"You'll be hungry later," he said, patting Mars on the head. He waved to Father Mason as they drove away; for some reason, the priest looked rather uncomfortable. Maybe it was because he had been recently possessed.

"So," he said, turning on the radio, "What kind of tunes do you like, Mars?"

"You mean music, right?" He asked, shifting in his seat and slicking back his hair, again. "I like, uh...well I really only like a couple of bands."

He smiled, feeling awkward.

"Do you like rap?" he asked, switching the station to something with a loud beat and incomprehensible, provocative lyrics.

"Near all I listened to while I grew up!" he said loudly over the music. "It's come a long way!"

Mars hit the radio until it turned off. It was actually an instant reaction.

"...I only listen to Switchfoot and Carbon Leaf." He replied quietly.

He blinked, surprised.

"...I've never heard of either. Are they a very Washingtonian thing?"

"Wh-what?!" He exclaimed, genuinely surprised. "Y-you've never heard of Switchfoot, even?! How?! You have to hear them, now!"

Mars unbuckled his seatbelt, leaning into the backseat so that he could rifle through his bags. When he found the CDs he was looking for, he sat right in his seat and buckled his seatbelt again.

"Okay! I found them, you have to listen!"

He laughed, beaming at Mars.

"Please, educate me. I do love hearing young music--tell me, is this band popular at your school? The boys must be all over you, huh?"
