A Fairly Gay Christmas Special

"...But we bought movie tickets," he said, frowning. "Aren't you gonna use them? It's your money--you can take some random girl, or one of your friends if you don't want to be around me."

Blair responded by handing the tickets to Yuri.

"You take them. Have fun." He said bitterly.

"...You're the only person who'd go with me," he replied quietly.

Feeling a pang of guilt, Blair finally sighed and calmed down.

"...let's just watch the stupid movie." He said quietly.

"Promise you won't ditch me?" he asked.

"Yes, I promise." He said. He was pretty sure he had promised that before, though.

He sighed.

"Alright. Just make up your mind already...you weren't this indecisive before." He smiled again. "Have you gotten shyer, or something?"

He glared.

"Just get something to eat so we can watch our movie." He replied, somewhat flustered.

Yuri went and bought a hotdog, munching it as quickly as he could.

"Let's go and get good seats!" he exclaimed, excited despite himself. He almost never went to see movies in theaters.

Blair rolled his eyes, heading into the theater.

"Where do you want to sit?" He asked, once they were in the actual room with the seats.

"In the back!" he replied. "I don't want anyone kicking my seat--that's what happens when I don't sit in the back."

Blair shrugged. "Whatever, that's fine with me." He moved to the very back row.

Yuri sat down next to him and became immediately absorbed in the previews.

"Aw, hell yeah--a movie about a wedding! Romcoms are nice."

Blair cringed.

"Gross." He replied.

He chuckled.

"They're good when nothing else is on--not as good as musicals, though. Why don't you like them?"

He wasn't about to admit he didn't like them because of the real reason he mainly disliked them; because he was not particularly attracted to hetero couples.

"They're dumb and girly." He said, instead.

He laughed.

"Some people would say action movies are stupid and overly macho--like me, I don't like them. Some buff dude blows up stuff and bangs some chicks--where's the fun in that? Plus, then we get leading women like Megan Fox." He wrinkled his nose. "Even I'm not desperate enough to tap that."

He chuckled to himself, leaning on the armrest of their seats.

"I still say they're better than chick flicks."

"No way," he insisted. "Chick flicks are romantic and often unintentionally hilarious. I really like them~ When I was little, I would always wish I could be a protagonist in a chick flick, because then I'd find someone, ya know? Like how every little girl wants to be a princess."

He rolled his eyes.

"Sounds like you."

Not that Blair's aspirations were any better; he wanted to be Troy Bolton.

He laughed.

"Yeah, people always made fun of me for it, like with everything else. The dolls, my hair, my name, my lunch, my clothes--eventually you learn to just kind of let everyone believe what they want and keep your distance."

"That's not true." He said absently. "You should have done something about it."

"Really?" he asked. "Like what?"

"Why didn't you stand up for yourself?" He asked, slightly confused.

"Well, there was nothing to stand up to at first," he whispered back thoughtfully, leaning back in his seat. The opening credits of the movie flickered across the screen. "At first, people just stopped being friends with me--how do you stand up to that? You can force someone to be your friend...after that, it just became a normal thing to be hated. I wasn't a big kid, and people stopped throwing things after middle school, so it's really not that big of a deal either way. But anyway, the movie's starting."

He shifted around in his chair, wanting to be comfortable for the duration of the gorefest.
